PURPOSE:To make the characteristic of a stock uniform by providing a temp. controller and heater to a rolling roll and controlling the temp. thereof. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple 4 for measuring the temp. of the rolling roll 1 and the heater 3 for heating the roll are disposed in the roll 1. The roll is driven by a spindle 8 connected to a driving device to roll the stock 2. The temp. of the roll 1 is measured by the thermocouple 4 during as well as before and after rolling. The roll 1 is heated by the roll heater of the heater 3 if the temp. of the roll 1 is lower than the temp. of the stock 2. The roll 1 is cooled by a cooler of water, etc., if the temp. of the roll 1 is lower than the temp. of the stock 2. The temp. of the roll can be controlled to the specified temp. by the above-mentioned method. The rolling at the equal temp. of the roll 1 and the stock 1 is thus made possible and therefore, the characteristics of the stock 2 are made uniform from the surface to the inside. |
