PURPOSE:To form fine patterns on the surface of a plastic optical part by a method in which a plastic base material is heated by a radiation heat source to melt or fluidize the specific distance in the depth of the surface layer of a pattern under the condition that the inside of the plastic base material is hardened, and a pressure of 100kg/cm<2> or less is applied to the plastic base material. CONSTITUTION:A plastic base material 8 processed into a final shape in outside dimensions and thickness is positioned on an insert 11, and a radiation heat source 6, e.g., infrared lamp, etc., is inserted above the blank 8. The surface layer of the blank 8 is heated for melting or fluidization. Optical inserts 3 and 11 are contacted with the blank 8 and a pressure is applied to them. The pressure to be applied then is a small pressure of 100kg/cm<2> or less. |
