To access information from a gaming machine operated from a mains electric supply, a control unit is connected into the mains at a location remote from the machine. The control unit transmits a unique code which is identified by the gaming machine so that information of any predetermined type can be transmitted by the machine back along the mains to the control unit, together with a signal identifying the machine. The game programme of gaming machines may be altered by signals from the control unit. |
