<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently discharge only chips, by temporarily stopping the chips being discharged by a chip conveyor, before dropping the chips into a bucket, so that cutting oil clinging to the chips goes down into a tank provided in the body of a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:In a machine tool 1, cutting oil in a tank 6 is ejected to a machined workpiece through a nozzle 8 by a pump 7. Chips 9 made during the machining of the workpiece are discharged into a bucket 3 provided outside the machine tool, by a chip conveyor 2. Before the chips 9 being discharged by the conveyor 2 are dropped into the bucket 3, the chips are temporarily stopped so that the cutting oil clinging to the chips goes down into the tank 6. The conveyor 2 is then run again to drop only the chips 9 into the bucket 3. For that purpose, the intermittent operation of the conveyor 2 is automatically controlled by a timer 13 in a control box 12.</p> |
