PURPOSE:To obtain the titled carrier having stable triboelectric charge characteristics, superior durability and a long life by coating the surface of a core material with a resin contg. a specified org. compound as a charge controller. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula I [where each of X, Y and Z is H, halogen, -NO2, -N(CH3)3<+>, -CHO or the like; M is Bi, P or Sb; each of m and n is 0 or 1; and each of p, q and r is 0-3], e.g., triphenyl bismuth represented by formula II is used as a charge controller. About 0.5-15wt% said compound and a solvent such as toluene are added to a resin such as a styrene- methyl methacrylate copolymer having >=about 60 deg.C glass transition temp. They are mixed to prepare a resin composition soln., and the soln. is applied to an inorg. core material for a carrier such as glass or iron powder of about 30- 1,000mum grain size. By drying the soln., a coating of about 0.1-30mum thickness is formed to obtain a carrier for developing an electrostatic charge image. |
