PURPOSE:To prevent a car height from varying when shifting a spring constant by enabling air to be externally fed or exhausted to and from an air-spring air chamber and a subsidiary air chamber in an air suspension, and synchronizing the feeding and exhausting operation with the shifting time of the spring constant of an air spring. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage having an exhaust valve 3, a new charge passage having a pressure regulating valve 4, and a spring constant shifting passage having a selector valve 5, are provided in a suspension system consisting of a shock absorber 1 and an air spring 2. The new charge passage is connected to the delivery port of an air compressor 13, and the spring constant shifting passage is connected to a subsidiary air chamber 14. These valves 3-5 and the compressor 13 are controlled by a control unit 6 in which the output signals of various sensors 7 and a car height sensor 8 which convey information necessary for judging the shifting of a spring constant, are inputted, based on a car height detecting signal and synchronized with the shifting of the spring constant, to prevent a car height from varying accompanying the shifting of the spring constant. |
