PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of skelton isomerization of aliphatic olefin having many branches to aliphatic olefin having less branches, by incorporating Al oxide and Nb oxide in a prescribed proportion. CONSTITUTION:A precipitate is calcined, which is obtd, by adding dropwise an aq. soln. of ammonia to e.g. a mixed aq. soln. of Al nitrate and Nb oxalate. An oxide is obtd., in which the atomic ratio of Nb/Al is 1/1,400-1/8. By this oxide the skelton isomerization of aliphatic olefins having many branches such as isobutylene to n-butene can be done in good efficiency. |
