PURPOSE:To reduce set manhour and prevent erroneous operation by directly controlling setting of an input/output (I/O) device by a channel device according to operation mode stored in a subchannel. CONSTITUTION:A channel controlling device 4 controls, for instance, a channel device 5-1 and controls transmitting and receiving of data between a main memory 1 and an I/O devices 7-1, 8-1 taking the place of a CPU2. A subchannel 51-1 is provided in the device 5-1, and a table is provided in the channel 51-1. On the other hand, the CPU2 stores operation mode of recognized I/O devices 7-1 and 8-1 in the table. Accordingly, the device 5-1 can set the devices 7-1 and 8-1 directly. |
