PURPOSE:To generate easily a test pattern having optional density and an optional shape by selecting a pattern having a required shape out of plural kinds of regular patterns which have been previously set up and applying a required density changing condition to the selected pattern. CONSTITUTION:The vertical and horizontal size of picture data, the number of bits of picture elements, background values, pattern shapes, density changing values, and position changing values are inputted to a condition setter 31 and then sent to a test data generating part 32. The background value is a bias value to be added to the whole picture data. The test pattern generating part 32 forms previously set up various patterns in accordance with setting conditions sent from a condition setter 31, also forms test data obtained by adding a required condition to the pattern shape and sends the test data to a test data recording part 33. |
