Compositions which are employed for labelling with Tc-99m and are then used for producing an optical representation utilising radioactivity contain microaggregates of albumin, preferably human albumin, and a metallic reducing agent, in particular a tin(II) reducing agent. These agents can, where appropriate, be in freeze-dried form so that they can be labelled at the place of use immediately before they are used simply by adding a technetium-99m-containing material, for example a corresponding pertechnate solution. The labelled products are an excellent means for visualisation of the reticuloendothelial system (RES), and in particular of the liver, of the spleen and of the bone marrow. Processes for the microaggregation of albumin in the presence of the reducing metal are described.
