<p>The present invention provides antibiotic neplanocins of the general formula:- <IMAGE> wherein X is an NH2, -OH, -SH or -SCH3 group or a chlorine atom, R is a hydrogen atom or a protective group for the -OH group, and Z is a <IMAGE> group, in which Y is -O- or a valency bond and R is a hydrogen atom or a protective group for the -OH group, or Z is a group in which Y is -O- or a valency bond, and the physiologically- acceptable salts thereof. The present invention also provides processes for the production of these antibiotics and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.</p> |
