PURPOSE:To remove all data of unnecessary part and increase efficiency of picture processing by providing a mask line that determines the second domain in the picture of the first domain of an object of inspection and its periphery, and dividing the object of inspection into a domain that includes little unnecessary part and an unnecessary part. CONSTITUTION:An image of the object of inspection is picked up by a TV camera, and the picture is converted into data of digital quantity by a binary coding circuit 12, and segment data of the pattern of object of inspection is extracted by a data extracting circuit 13. The extracted data are stored in a picture memory 14 and processed by a CPU15. Segments l1-l4 indicated by one horizontal scanning are provided in the memory 14, and the segments l1-l4 are made a table in which pattern number N and coordinates of left and right ends XL, XR are written. Horizontal scanning is performed by coordinate YN which is in the direction of vertical scanning and coordinate YN+1 for next horizontal scanning. Information in the direction of horizontal scanning of each table is compared, and necessity of data is judged. Thus, efficiency of picture processing is improved. |
