PURPOSE:To exchange automatically top dies in a short time without removing the same from a press brake by attaching preliminarily two kinds of top dies to a pair of die holders respectively and providing mechanism for attaching and detaching alternately the respective holders to an adapter. CONSTITUTION:An adapter 10 for fixing a die holder is fixed to the bottom end of a ram 5 of a press brake. A driving shaft 12 is provided along the back of the ram and is rotated to drive gears 17, 18a, 18b by means of a gear 16, by which arms 20a, 20b fixed to shafts 19a, 18b are driven and die holders 6a, 6b mounted with top dies 7a, 7b are turned. The exchange of the top die 7b now under use with another top die 7a is accomplished by unlocking the holder 6b and turning respective turning arms 20a, 20b in an arrow direction by the revolution of the shaft 12 to retreat the holder 6b to the front surface of the adapter 10 and to press the holder 6a to the bottom surface of the adapter 10, thereby locking the holder 6a to the adapter 10 and using the die 7a. |
