PURPOSE:To obtain a good read-out output of S/N by irradiating a linear polarized light to a ferromagnetic material thin film plural times so that a magneto- optical effect can be utilized in multiple, and increasing a rotational angle of a polarizing surface twice by that portion. CONSTITUTION:As for a linear polarized light, for instance, that which passes through a laser light source and a polarizer is used. The linear polarized light obtained in this way is led into a transparent core block 13 as shown by a broken line, reflected successively by a dielectric reflecting film 14 and a ferromagnetic material thin film 15, and led out to the outside in the end. As for the dielectric reflecting film 14, for instance, that which has a large refractive index, such as TiO2, SiO, SiO2, Al2O3, SnO2In2O3, CeF3, PhFe, BiF3, MgF2, etc. is used. In this case, a lot of linear polarized lights are irradiated to the ferromagnetic material thin film 15, therefore, a rotational angle of a polarizing surface is increased by the number of times of its irradiation. Also, as for the dielectric reflecting film 14, it is different from a metal, etc. and its linear deflection does not become an elliptical deflection, therefore, the rotational angle of the polarizing surface of a magnetic Kerr effect can be detected very faithfully. |
