PURPOSE:To enhance storage stability, sensitivity, etc., for use in photomecanical process by incorporating a specified polyphenol compd. in a hydrophilic colloidal layer formed on the surface of a support reverse to the side of silver halide emulsion layers, and further, an oxidative compd. in at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on said emulsion side. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic colloidal layer formed on the side of a support reverse to the side of photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers contains a compd. represented by formula I in which x is halogen, (m) is 0-4, and (n) is 2-4. At least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on the side of said photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers an tetrazolium compd., e.g. having formula II in which R4, R6 are each H, NH2, NO2, SO2, SH, alkyl, or the like; R5 is H, OH, COOH, or the like; X is an anion; and (l) is 1 or 2, or it may contain an inorg. oxidant, such as K2S2O8. As a result, the photosensitive material thus obtained is superior in long term storage stability, high in contrast, prevented from deterioration of sensitivity, and superior in sharpness of a dotted image, etc. |
