PURPOSE:To manufacture a hot rolled steel sheet with high suitability to pickling while reducing the formation of scale by cooling a steel sheet in a steam atmosphere immediately after hot finish rolling, and coiling the cooled sheet. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet 2 subjected to hot finish rolling with a final finish rolling mill 1 is immediately introduced into hoods 5, 5', and steam is fed to the hoods 5, 5' from feed pipes 6, 6'. The sheet 2 is cooled with coolers 3, 3' in the steam atmosphere, and the cooled sheet 2 is coiled with a coiler 4. The formation of scale can be reduced from the conventional about 7mum thickness to <=about 1mum. |
