<p>The invention relates to a process for producing roast bio-coal and to equipment for carrying out the production process including its variants. A biomass of, for example, straw, maize cobs and chipped or chopped wood is uniformly heated to a temperature of at most 200 DEG C by means of hot gases, the heating medium flowing through the loosely heaped mass. The end product is a roast coal which can be ground or compacted with the tar and pitch formed as a binder, as required. The exhaust gases from boilers or other thermal engineering installations, for example gas engines, are used as heating medium. Two-stage roasting can also be carried out, wherein compacting can take place between the stages.</p> |
