PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of any uneven polish and/or stripes so as to obtain a good finish when a metallic plate in different width is polished, by always shaving hairs on both end parts of a brush surface by polishing units and evening a level of the brush surface during its polishing work. CONSTITUTION:During polishing work of a metallic plate, simultaneously polishing units 3 are allowed to touch both end parts of a brush roll 1 so that the brush may be rubbed by shuttle motion of the unit 3, and hairs on parts (a) are shaved correcting the height of the part (a) equal to that of central parts (b) worn by contact with the metallic plate. If a wide surface of the metallic plate 4 is brought in contact with a brush surface evened in such way to perform grinding work, the surface of the metallic plate 4 can be uniformly polished because the brush surface is evened. Accordingly, an excellent finish can be expected by eliminating the generation of any uneven polish and/or stripes, while any necessity for removing the brush from a frame to cut the hairs is eliminated, enabling labor and time to be saved and work efficiency to be improved. |
