PURPOSE:To prevent breaking of a wire electrode and deterioration of a die by forming a communication hole in the axial direction of the electrode between the die for guiding the wire electrode and a die holder and allowing working liquid to flow through said hole. CONSTITUTION:A guide 20 guides and holds an electrode 2 at a prescribed position by inserting the wire electrode 2 into the guide hole 21 on a die 22, and a voltage pulse is applied between the electrode 2 and an article to be worked, which is cut by electric discharge to a prescribed shape. Since working liquid is supplied onto the guide 20 during said working, and the working liquid supplied flows in a communication hole 24 formed between the die 22 and a die holder 23 and flows between the die 22 and the die holder 23, the frictional heat generated between the electrode 2 and the die 22 can be absorbed by the flow of the working liquid. With such a constitution, wire-breaking of the wire electrode and deterioration of die can be prevented. |
