PURPOSE:To perform focusing automatically at a high speed by inserting glass which varies the length of an optical path into a visual field between an object and an image pickup device, and processing two kinds of images at a time. CONSTITUTION:Two window frames W1 and W2 are set on a console panel 22 through a microcoputer 9. An image of the object 15 on a stage 16 is formed on the photoelectric surface of a TV camera 3a through an objective 1; an image by light passed through the glass 2 is formed in the window frame W2, and a normal image is formed in the window frame W1. Its video signal is inputted to shift registers 5a-5o through an AD converter 4 to be converted into two- dimensional video signals, which are inputted to mask registers 6a-6p, thereby inputting variable density picture data within a mask of 16X16 picture elements scanned synchronously with the TV camera 3a to a computing element 7. Variations in density in the W1 and W2 specified by a window frame signal generator 8 are calculted by specific arithmetic processing and the stage 16 is moved up or down through a driver 10 and a motor 11 according to whether the variations are large or small, carrying out the focusing operation. |
