PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a high quality recording image free from image blurring without contaminating a recording medium and to prevent a sticking phenomenon, by providing a heating means for further heating ink at the part to be heated of the ink already heated by a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The titled recording apparatus is constituted by at least mounting a thermal head 2 for heating supercooling thermal transfer ink containing a supercooling binder up to a point below a supercooling state and a heating means 3 for bringing the part to be heated of the ink already heated by the thermal head 2 into the supercooled state. The thermal head 2 has a picture element comprising a heat generating element made of various materials, for example, TaN, Ni or a Ag-Pt alloy arranged in order to heat the supercooling thermal transfer ink in response to requests. As a heating means 3, one capable of bringing the supercooling thermal transfer ink into a supercooled state may be used. By this method, the sticking phenomenon of the thermal head is prevented and high quality recording generating no image blurring nor contamination due to the ink of a recording medium can be performed. |
