PURPOSE:To eliminate deterioration in the picture quality with the removal or relaxation of heat storage in a thermal head by arranging a base, a heat generating element and a means for cooling the substrate to form a thermal recorder. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fin 4 is mounted on the bottom of a base 3 of a thermal head 1 and a fan 6 housed into a fan case 5 is arranged below close to the fin 4. Said fan 6 is rotated to blow air against the cooling fin 4, cooling it it 4 and further the thermal head 1 with the fin 4 mounted. For example, an aluminum-made cooling fin with the heat resistance of 0.8 deg.C/W is mounted on the base of a thermal head with the power consumption of about 50W and a fan with the air quantity of 0.8m<3>/min and the air pressure of 3mm. H2O is set about 25cm away from the fin. The fan is rotated to blow air against the fin. |
