PURPOSE:To save the amount of energy by lessening the amount of circulating water by a method in which steam is directly atomized into heated air by a steam atomizer, circulating water flowing down along a wetted wall is contacted with the heated air to damp the air, and the temperature of the damped air is controlled by a plate finned coil. CONSTITUTION:Steam deprived of dust from a filter 3 is heated to a given temperature at which no supersaturation state occurs at a humidifying process by a plate finned coil 4a and then directly atomized by a steam atomizer 5. The atomized steam is once partly absorbed by circulating water flowing down on a wetted wall 11 to humidify air passing through the wet walls 11, and the other part of the steam humidifies air directly. The humidified air passes with the droplets of circulating water scatterd into air from the wetted wall device 6 through an eliminator 7, where the water droplets in the air are separated and the air is again controlled in temperature by the plate finned coil 4b and sent to a painting booth.
