Two-stage carburettor for internal combustion engines with a first and a second intake passage, with an eccentrically supported throttle valve (choke valve) arranged upstream of the arbitrarily actuatable throttle valve of the first intake passage and a pneumatic actuator, which is acted upon on one side by the pressure on the restrictor of at least one venturi section and on the other side by the pressure in that section of the first intake passage between the venturi section and the upstream throttle valve. As a result the start of opening of the second throttle valve is independent of the contamination of the air filter or of the function of the upstream throttle valve.
