PURPOSE:To prevent a printing position from being disturbed due to the variations in the velocity of a head, by a method wherein the velocity of a head is detected, and the timing of impacting is regulated in accordance with the velocity being detected. CONSTITUTION:A slit disk 7 is fixed to a driving shaft 2 for moving a carriage 4 supporting the printing head 3 thereon, and the disk 7 is provided with photo- sensors 81, 82 to obtain an pulse signal according to the velocity of the carriage 4 (head 3). The pulse signal is inputted into a wave-shaping circuit 12 through an amplifier 11, and is shaped to obtain a signal in which the pulse gap is varied in accordance with the velocity. The thus obtained signal is inputted into a CPU20, which calculates the time difference between the pulse gap in the signal and that in a pulse signal for a fixed velocity, and a delay pulse signal is generated by a delay circuit 14. The delay pulse signal is fed to a printing pin driving circuit 15 to drive the head 3. |
