PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of positional deviation of copied image by setting specified data to a programmable timer according to speed data in a memory and switching motor excitation according to the output. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a motor driver that energizes an electric coil of each phase of a stepping motor M7 that reciprocates an image reading and scanning mechanism, a home position detecting device placed near the starting position of forward scanning of the image reading and scanning mechanism, a memory in which plural speed data that determine switching timing of signals applied to the motor driver and a programmable timer. The device is also provided with a controlling device that sets data to the programmable timer correspondent to specified speed data in the memory according to target speed at the time of scanning, switches the signal applied to the motor driver at specified timing correspondent to the output of the timer, performs backward scanning after making specified amount of forward scanning of the image reading and scanning mechanism just after an electric power source is made on, and when the home position detecting device sends out a specified signal, starts speed reduction and after a specified time, sets the speed to zero. |
