PURPOSE:To improve the using efficiency of a system by controlling a fixed type magnetic disc device so that transfer and storage operation from the magnetic disc device to a backup memory through a buffer memory is executed during the pausing period of normal work processing. CONSTITUTION:When a SAVE command 102 is inputted from a processor to a register 2 and a controlling part 4, a block address in the command is stored in the register 2. If an R/W command 104 is inputted to the controlling part 4 and the disc device 8 is in operating, the controlling part 4 receives the block address from the register 2 after passing a prescribed period from the end of the operation and commands transfer operation to the buffer memory 6, the disc device 8 and the backup memory 10 to execute the SAVE command. If the R/W command 104 is inputted to the controlling part 4 during the execution of the SAVE command, the transfer operation is interrupted at the division of the block and then executed again after completing write or read operation. |
