PURPOSE:To reduce considerably a driving electric power by using a field effect transistor FET as a main control element in a series-type voltage stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:An FET Q1 is used as the main control element to the voltage stabilizer. A resistance R5 is connected in parallel between the source and the gate of the FET Q1. The current flowed to the resistance R5 is controlled in accordance with the variation of an output voltage E0 to change the voltage between the source and the gate of the FET Q1, and the voltage applied across the source and the drain of the FET Q1 is varied to stabilize the output voltage E0. Since the FET Q1 is used as the main control element in this manner, the device is protected from the reverse voltage, which is generated by short-circuit of an input power source, by a backward diode incorporated in the FET Q1. The resistance between the source and the gate of the FET Q1 is high, and the driving power of the voltage stabilizer is low. Thus, the driving power is reduced considerably. |
