<p>The invention relates to a system for generating digital signals corresponding to functions of two variables, the functions corresponding to a selectable analytical relation and being of the type that can be described in a discrete form by a differential-equation or a simultaneous system of differential equations and at least one boundary-condition or initial condition. The invention provides such a system which is capable of generating the signals at a considerably higher rate than conventional systems. The inventon includes a signal generator for forming binary signals for each of the two variables, the signals being representative for the differential-equation(s) and the at least one boundary-condition or initial condition. Also included is a comparator for successively comparing, in the direction from the most significant bit (MSB) to the least significant bit (LSB), bits of equal significance of the two signals, each of which corresponds to one variable. A rolling-point determinator is provided for determining a rolling-point on basis of at least one of the comparing operations, The rolling-point is a point determined by the values of both variables and relative to which a preceding part of the function, considered to be graphically displayed in a cartesian coordinatesystem, is rolled over 180.degree. so as to obtain a next part of the function connec-ted to said preceding part. Finally, the system includes a memory for memorizing signals corresponding to at least the last-mentioned next part of the function in the form of bit-couples.</p> |
