PURPOSE:To input data with reduced memory capacity of a voice memory at an increased search speed by recognizing each basic word when a phrase is inputted and recognizing the phrase in accordance with the combination of this recognition result. CONSTITUTION:A voice input device 1 is connected to an electronic cash register ECR electrically. In this device 1, a voice CPU5 is connected to a word memory 9 and a phrase memory 10 in two directions. If one word is given to one goods name, the word itself is used as a voice variable constant; and if a phrase where plural basic words are combined is given to one goods name, basic words are used as a voice variable constant; and plural kinds of voice variable constant are stored in the area M1 of a memory 9, and the basic codes corresponding to individual voice variable constants in the area M1 are stored in an area M2. The phrase memory 10 is provided with synthesized codes, where the basic codes are combined, and corresponding identification codes and recognizes a phrase in accordance with the combination of recognition results of individual basic words. |
