The angling hook comprisedcomprises a V-shaped wire spring, having two hooked (4) arms (1,2) connected via an eye (3) secured to the end of the fishing line. One arm contains a looped eye (9) acting as a hinge for a similarly looped eye (10) of a catch (6) formed by a bent wire. - The two arms (1,2) are bent together against their spring force and held in this position by a hook (7) at one end of the wire engaging a loop (8) in the other arm (1), which carries the bait.
