The key carrier has a ring for attachment of keys esp. for the ignition key of a motor vehicle. It can provide a wealth of esp. medical information, readable without special aids, likely to be of use in the event of an accident. A case (31) replaceably accommodates a microfilm holder (35). The film records medical or other data. The case, the holder, and a viewer (32), with lens, are linked by a connecting element (34), which is non-rigid, at least between the holder and viewer. The connecting element can incorporate a ring, and a chain or strip. The case can have a window for the microfilm. A photograph can also be included.
