To reduce the "spin-out" effect in planing windsurfing boards, a fin is proposed whose blade (5) is made of an elastomeric material at least in the stern area (11) and is stiffened along its bow-side margin by a flat rib (7) held on the fin mounting (9). The elastomeric material has a hardness of between 60 and 120 Shore A, preferably about 90 Shore A. The surfboard-side margin (13) projecting towards the stern from the rib (7) runs close beneath the base side of the surfboard (1) and is freely movable towards the surfboard (1). <IMAGE>
