<p>PURPOSE:To display the contents of coordinate input on a coordinate input plane, by commonly using a falt plate display panel of X-Y matric electrode constitution for a flat plate incorporating a magnetic field generating coil group. CONSTITUTION:When a position detector 23 is contacted on a display plane of a gas discharge display panel PDP 10, the panel responds to the pressure and a device control unit 50 makes, e.g., X side magnetic field generating system operative. Thus, a magnetic field generating circuit 21 sequentially supplies a magnetic field generating pulse(current) to each X electrode pair of the PDP10 to form a vector of rotating magnetic field. The detector 23 converts a magnetic field produced on an indicated point into an analog electric signal, and a coordinate detection circuit 24 calculates the X coordinate of the indicated point based on the phase of the electric signal. Succeedingly, the Y coordinate is obtained. The data of the X and Y coordinates are inputted to a display driving unit 30, X and Y address drivers apply address pulses at the discharge point of the PDP 10 and produce the discharge spot.</p> |
