PURPOSE:To prevent worsening of maneuvering stability, by a method wherein the occurrence of a control system trouble is detected by determining whether the contol effected during the period between the start and the terminal of adjustment of a damping force is completed within a specified time or not, and when the trouble is detected, all sound systems are controlled in the damping force regulating positions on the safety side. CONSTITUTION:A trouble detecting circuit 30 is adapted to monitor the output signal levels of a selecting reference signal generating circuit 2 and each signal comparing circuit 3 by a time control, and outputs a trouble detecting signal indicatng a trouble on adjustment of the damping force, when a period between the start and the terminal of adjustment of the damping force exceeds a set time. In response to the trouble detecting signal, a damping force switching signal generating circuit 31 outputs a signal which forces the output of the selecting reference signal generating circuit 2 into a normal position N. Thus, even if the damping force of a control system in which a trouble occurs is present at any of a normal, a hard, and a soft position, the damping force of sound systems may be suppressed to the difference of damping equivalent to one full step at the maximum. |
