PURPOSE:To facilitate the operation for setting a recording position to shorten a setting time, by constituting a printing apparatus so that coordinates at two points on the diagonal line of a recording medium are indicated by moving a carriage to enable the setting of all margins. CONSTITUTION:When the input information inputted by a keyboard is supplied to a mode control CPU8 from an information input part 7, the input information thereof is judged and treated corresponding to the kind of the data thereof by using a memory element 9. That is, when a carriage 2 is moved to set margin crossing positions 3, 4 and a margin setting key 5 or 6 corresponding to either one of said positions is subjected to key input, the contents of all the margin registers 13, 14, 15, 16 are determined and, therefore, an operation process is reduced to half and becomes extremely easy. |
