PURPOSE:To form various relief pictures on the side of a molding by a thermal sheet molding method by mounting a vertically mobile auxiliary die on a notch section provided on the top of a die. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin sheet 6 is retained securely on a die 1 with holders 7 and 7. Then, the sheet 6 is heated soft with a heater 8 and the softened sheet 6 is sucked onto the die 1 from a vacuum suction port 5 to mold. In this process, a relief picture 10 is molded on the side of a molding 9 to match the shape of the molding with a recess 2 of the auxiliary die 3. After the molding, when the molding 9 is taken out of the die 1 by reversing air from the vacuum suction port 5, the auxiliary die 3 is moved simultaneously on a support shaft 4 and comes off the die 1 lifting the molding 9. This allows the simultaneous removal of the relief picture part 10 of the molding 9 thereby facilitating withdrawal thereof. |
