PURPOSE:To continue the operation without stopping a system even if one light emitting element is faulty, by relating the constitution of light emitting elements to the number of redundant thyristors of a thyristor converter. CONSTITUTION:The number of redundant thyristors of an optical thyristor valve is denoted as (p), and the number of thyristors connected in series is denoted as (n). N pieces of light emitting elements for igniting these optical thyristors are divided to groups each of which consists of p pieces of light emitting elements. P pieces of light emitting elements L1-LP are connected in series. Current limiting resistances 6 and 7 and a capacitor 8 are connected in series to light emitting elements L1-LP in each group. One switching element 4 is connected to these groups connected in parallel. The element 4 controls the current, which is flowed to light emitting elements, in accordance with a gate command generated from a gate control circuit 5. |
