摘要 PURPOSE:To disuse a crank mechanism by providing several guide grooves of closed curves to be axially deviated in one or two periods per one rotation on the periphery of a cylinder rotating round a cylinder shaft for fitting in the inner circumferential face of a piston with rolling balls between. CONSTITUTION:A rotating cylinder 3 is fixed on an output shaft 1 supported by a thrust bearing 2, and arranged at the inner end part of a cylinder 8. On the periphery of this cylinder 3, several sine-wave-shaped guide grooves 4, 4'... are formed and fitted with rolling balls 5, 5'... caught on the inner face of a piston 6 to be rotatable. Meanwhile, the piston 6 is fitted in an axial groove 35 of the cylinder 8 via a ball 34 extended to the outside, and restrained in its rotation. Consequently, by the combustion expansion in a combustion chamber 10, the piston 6 rotates the cylinder 3 via balls 4 and further rotates the outpt shaft 1. By the rotation of the output shaft 1, the piston 6 is reciprocated via balls 4 to carry on exhaustion, suction, and compression strokes. This construction permits to reduce the size, the weight, and vibrations of a captioned engine, and obtain the high efficiency in high temperature without using a crank mechanism.
