Intake circuit for an internal combustion engine such as a diesel or injection engine comprising a connecting pipe between an inlet mouth piece 4 and an intake aperture which can be closed off by a valve 3 from a combustion chamber 2, into which, when the engine is running, the air or gas mixture passing through the circuit is subjected to changes in pressure and speed. This circuit has an obstacle 9 forming a restriction for the gas flow in the pipe, resembling a speed antinode to which the mass of gas flowing through the circuit is subjected when the engine turns at a speed such that the length of this wave matches the developed length of the circuit. This obstacle reduces the intake noise of the engine. <IMAGE>
