PURPOSE:To obtain an electrical signal output of the DC corresponding to an angular velocity by transmitting microwaves separately in right and left directions in the transmission path of a closed loop, detecting mixedly the separated microwaves, and passing the detected output through a DC amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The microwave oscillated by a microwave oscillator 1 is equally divided by a magic T3 and rotates in the directions opposite to each other in a microwave transmission path 2. The respective microwaves enter a mixed wave detector 4 via a magic T3 after making a round turn in the path 2 and are thus mixedly detected. When the microwave part rotates with respect to the absolute space, a phase difference arises in the clockwise and counterclockwise microwaves. The phase difference changes in roughly direct proportion to the angular velocity in the microwave part. Such phase difference is drawn out with the detector 4, is DC-amplified by a DC amplifier 5 and is displayed on a display device 6. Thus, the display on the device 6 changes according to the angular velocity in the microwave part. |
