PURPOSE:To permit easy regular welding by pressing a material having a cambered channel shape on a guide member having a projecting part at the center on the side face and tack welding a part to the center of the material thereby tack welding exactly and easily the part to the channel shaped material having a camber. CONSTITUTION:A channel shaped material 1 having a camber is placed in an position facing downward on a material placing plate, and the material 1 is disposed in the direction of the camber at which both ends detach from a guide member 4. Clamping cylinders 5 are extended so that the material 1 is pressed by the projecting part 4a at the center and both clamping cylinders 5 and is tentatively straightened on a straight line. The side faces of the U-shaped joining part 3 disposed to face upward on the material 1 and the material 1 are thus matched, and are tack welded by a spot welding machine. The material is disposed so as to position the direction of the camber at top and bottom and the part 3 is assembled to the material 1 by regular welding with an arc welding robot 6. The fluctuation in the vertical position from the surface of the material placing plate in the welding position owing to the camber of the material 1 is absorbed by the arc length (d) of the robot 6. |
