Platinum-(IV)-diamine complex of the followine formula is prepd. by reacting platinum-(II)-diamine chloride of cisLPtC12 with an oxidizing agent of C12 or hydrogen peroxide. R1 and R2 are H, 1-20C alkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl contg. 1-20C alkyl. X and Y are halogen or hydroxy. When X and Y = C1, and R1=CH3, R2 is other than CH3. When X and Y =C1, and R1=H, R2 is other than H. When X=C1, and R1 and R2 are H, Y is other than hydroxy.
