An assembly for positioning a rock drilling apparatus comprises a boom 12, a bifurcated bracket 11 having journal bearings for receiving a horizontal axle 14, a substantially U-shaped member 15 integral with the axle, an axle 24 perpendicular to the axle 14 and fixed to a U- shaped carrier 25 of feed shell holder 26, a hub including spaced plates 17 mounted on the axle 14 for rotation therewith, and hydraulic rams 18, 34 for effecting movement of the holder about the axes of the axles. The plates 17 have a plurality of connection points for the piston rod of ram 18. The holder is adapted to slidably receive a feed sheet 28 carrying a rock drilling apparatus 29, the shell being reciprocable by a ram 31. The axle 14 is splined and the hub is complementarily splined. The axle is of such a shape that it can be selectively positioned as shown in full and dashed lines in Fig. 1. |
