摘要 In the process for the direct reduction of iron ore in a shaft furnace, lumpy ores or pellets are subjected in a known manner to a flow of a gaseous reducing agent in countercurrent and are thereby reduced. A CO- and/or H2-rich gas, in most cases obtained from natural gas, is used as the reducing agent. According to the invention, a low-value reducing gas, i.e. a reducing gas having a low CO and/or H2 content and allowing a prereduction of the iron ore, is introduced into the shaft furnace in addition to this high-value reducing gas. The converter gas generated in the steel production in an oxygen-blowing converter is used for this purpose.
