Timer for medical instruments, particularly for dental instruments

The invention relates to a timer for medical instruments which, in particular, can be mounted on a dental instrument which can be removed from the mouth and has counters for detecting the total time the instrument has been carried in the mouth, a miniature battery and an electrical circuit with pulse memories. This timer is intended to manage with the least possible number of counters and memories whilst having high performance and reliability. For this purpose, the electrical circuit exhibits a miniature hybrid chip which only exhibits a first counter for the daily carrying time of the instrument and a second counter for the number of daily applications of the instrument in the mouth and a measurement value pickup by which the counters, which are in each case connected to a pulse memory, can be placed into operation via a window discriminator and a control unit connected thereto.
