PURPOSE:To obtain certain butt condition covering the whole length of welding by putting both strip materials to be cut in a cutting process in a condition of being pressed by a check plate on the undersides of their end parts. CONSTITUTION:At the time of lowering upper blades 2, 2' to shear end parts of both strip materials S1, S2 at one time, both strip materials are put in cutting process in a condition of being pressed by a check plate 9 on the undersides of their end parts. The check plate 9 is pressed downward along with cut pieces Sa, Sb sheared due to lowering of the upper blades 2, 2'. Thus, since distortion due to an angle of rake of the upper blades is not produced on the end parts of the strips during cutting, straight shearing face is obtained along a cutting line. |
