PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material excellent in image reliability, color forming property and an optical readability in an infrared region, wherein a specified color developer, a ferric salt of a higher fatty acid and a specified compound are incorporated in a heat-sensitive color forming layer provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a leuco dye [e.g., 3-{N-p-tolylamino)}-7-anilinofluoran] and 4-hydroxy-4'-chlorodiphenyl sulfone as color developer and further comprising a ferric salt of a higher fatty acid (e.g., ferric stearate), a polyvalent hydroxyaromatic compound (e.g., gallic acid) and at least one member selected from the group consisting of diphenylcarbazide, diphenylcarbazone, hexamethylenetetramine, spirobenzopyran and 1-formyl-4- phenylsemicarbazide is provided on the base, and a protective layer comprising a white pigment is provided on the color forming layer, as required, to obtain the objective thermal recording material. |
