<p>The can of a canned refractory (30) is recovered for reuse by heating the canned refractory in an oven to 200-300 DEG C, after which the canned refractory is placed on a support (32) which engages only the edges (33) of the can, the refractory (34, 36) being unsupported. Thus supported and while it is still hot, the canned refractory is subjected to a pressing operation, a driven plunger being forced against the refractory (36) so as to thrust it out of the can. <IMAGE></p> |
