PURPOSE:To exactly and inexpensively form a fixing point for a pile under water by a method in which a pile with pelygonal periphery is combined with flattened wedges in such a way as to make the pile contact with the flat faces of the wedges. CONSTITUTION:In forming an underwater structure by a pile 9 driven in water, an annular body 11 fittable to the periphery of the pile 9 of polygonal periphery is fitted on the pile 9, and they are lifted down. Flattened wedges 10 are put between the pile 9 and the annulus 11 to fix them 9 and 11 by the wedging action of the wedges from the water surface to form a panel point. Since, on the basis of results of calculation on the wedging forces in the penetrating direction for a regular hexagonal pile using the flattened wedges and a round pile using round wedges, the polygonal pile has a wedging effect a little over two times greater than that of the round pile, effective structures can thus be formed exactly and economically. |
